Subject: MY FIRST SHIRT!! :D

hiiii!!!! Soo I'm slowly starting to learn to sew over my summer break. And when I started my summer break, I said to myself, that I want to start to slowly learn to make something I can wear besides a tote bag, lol. :D I made my own tote bag earlier in the spring of this yr, and it came out pretty good for a beginner, and for someone who did it all on their own with no help/tutorials. :D I will post that later. :) The next big thing I sewed was my first shirt! :D I made this shirt earlier this month, on July 7th. :D It was reallly early like around 5 am, and I just couldn't go to sleep, and so I started thinking, I reallly want to MAKE SOMETHING ALREADY!! >.<>I was scared to make it, because I thought I would fail at it. LOL. But I got sooo sick and tired of myself and how I was thinking to myself, IM GOING TO MAKE THE SHIRT TODAY AND THAT'S THAT!!!! So I got up and got my moms Large green plain shirt, and got 2 other shirts, one was a tank top, and the other was a sleeveless shirt. I got those 2 tops, because I used them as examples like as a reference to the shirt I would be making. Like for the neckline and the size of the armholes, and I took what I liked from both of the tops and added them to my shirt I was gonna make. :D I have a habit of jumping in a project without really carefully planning it out. But this time, since I was so scared, I had a different mindset, and I thought to myself, expect to make mistakes, and if I do a mistake, it's okay, because I can make another shirt, and learn from the mistake, besides I'm a beginner, and it's expected to make mistakes, you know? :). Also, another thing about me when I do something new, I expect to be good at everything I try, even like if it's my first time trying it. It's horrible, and then when I'm done with trying the new thing, I get disappointed in myself because it didn't COME OUT GOOD OR AS I EXPECTED!!! >.< Then I sadly get discouraged. But no, not this time. I changed my way of thinking, and slowly and carefully I approached the shirt. :D So yea, I laid down the large green shirt on the floor, put the tank top on top of the green shirt, and traced around the tank, and also made measurements and such. I wanted to try and make a fit shirt, and so yea I sewed it then quickly tried it on with excitement, AND YAYYYYY!!! IT FITTED ME!!! W0000000T!!! LOL :D I WAS SOOOOO HAPPPPY!!! I then took it off, and I started putting edges on the sleeveless sleeves? (ha that sounds funny, I think I said it wrong. :P) and on the neckline. I used my example of the sleeveless top, and took notice of how it was made, and yea I DID IT!!! :D W000t!!! It was easy to make the ends of the sleeveless sleeves? :D The neckline, I had trouble with it. But I know what went wrong. :) I cut the fabric straight, and not curved, like with the sleeve area. -.- But overall, it's not that bad. :D LOL. After I was completely done, I showed my mom my shirt, and she was like........................ :O!!!! SHOCKED & SURPRISED!!! LOL

My mom wanted to be a fashion designer, and actually worked for a fashion designer in america in the 80's :D His name was Michael Novarese, and I JUST FOUND OUT THAT HE PASSED AWAY JUNE 4TH, 2010!!! :O :( How sad, since last summer I have been thinking bout him, since my mom told me of him. -.- Well anyways, as I was saying, my mom wanted to be a fashion designer, and when she was young she made clothes for herself, OHHHHH AND WHEN SHE WAS WORKING FOR MICHAEL NOVARESE SHE MADE A DRESS FOR BOB HOPES WIFE!! HOW AWESOME!!! :D And she made clothes for my siblings and I, since we were babies till our childhood. :D Sooo she knows how to sew professionally :D So yea, when she saw my shirt, she was shocked and surprised and said that the shirt fits me, and that she looooved how I did the sleeves, and that I did a good job on it! :D I was soooo happpy to hear that coming from her, because she's a critical person. :P And making this shirt meant a lot to me, even if it's a simple shirt, because I proved myself wrong, that I can do this, and maybe I'll be a fashion designer in my future, and also it proved to my mom, that I'm serious about learning to sew, and that I DO WANT TO DO THIS!!! :D So I finally have her support. :D

The first step is to make sure your Blogger is in Classic Template mode. Template tab >> Edit HTML >> Revert to Classic Template

There's a section under the blogger code that requires you to put in your link. It will show up under your post as "posted by yourblogname @ 12AM" and yourblogname will have a link attached to it. Edit that link to anything you like; an email, a webpage, etc.

Remember that all these sections are editable. You can put anything in (tagboards, music players, youtube vids) or take out entire sections. Follow the coding. For this layout, the right module items should not exceed 219 pixels in width.
